Hello everyone
Welcome to the second month of The Flower Challenge! This month we have the theme of “Any Occasion” and I chose to do a birthday card, as I never seem to have enough of these to hand.
Here is my card.
Now, I know it’s not Spring and I really should be doing a Christmas card with a poinsettia or something, but I bought these stamps a few months back and had not had a chance to ink them up. And on a grey day, they seemed like the perfect tonic – so I bought Spring a little early into my craft room!
I used my MISTI to make this card. I find it very useful for stamp layering, and also for double stamping.
I took four sets of my Altenew Inks and picked two colours from each for the tulip bulbs and a couple of greens for the leaves. I then stamped some masks and set about fussy cutting – I am not a fan of fussy cutting, or masking, but I do so love the end result.
I set to work stamping the tulip heads, masking as appropriate, and adding stems in as I went. It actually went fairly quickly as I had done a quick trial of the card, so I knew where I wanted each colour.
I then took two of the sentiments from the stamp set and stamped them with Versafine Onyx Black ink using the MISTI.
I had planned to make a top folding A2 base but I wasn’t concentrating and got a side fold one instead, so I went with it!
In order to “ground” the tulips, I got out my MFT Washi Patterns stamp set and stamped the black and white border along the bottom, added a strip of gold and then popped the completed panel on top.
Lastly I added a few gold sequins to tie the gold into the main panel.
I hope you like the card, and if it’s raining, grey or snowing, I hope it has brightened your day!
We would love to see what you come up with for the challenge, please link all your cards on the challenge blog and I look forward to seeing what you create this month! Thank you for joining us once again.

It’s beautiful! I love all the Spring colours and the strip of black and white at the bottom just brings out the colours even more. Definitely a Tonic against the grey weather we’ve been having lately. Xx

Lisa, even if Spring is long gone, this gorgeous Tulips bring back the beautiful colors of that sweet Season and the memories of seeing them peeking out of the ground eager for the warmth and light of the Sun.
Love your masking, it allowed you to line up this pretty flowers perfectly.
Beautifully done card, teammate.
Big Hugs,
Maria.

Loving your pretty Tulips Lisa, Spring can never come too early for my liking lol. Great colouring also and that sentiment finishes it off perfectly 😉 Viv xx
