Hello everyone
Today I have a fun card to share with you. I have to admit, the last week or so has been quiet for me on the cardmaking front. I have not had any mojo at all for making cards, but today is the launch of Danie’s melonising challenge, and how could I refuse that! All you need to do is colour some stamped images in the style of melons, but head over to her Instagram post linked above to see more details.
Here is my card – very different to what I normally create, but sometimes it’s fun to try something different, right?
I took several of the images from the My Favorite Things Magical Dragons stamp set and coloured them using Copic markers in watermelon shades. I added some extra little accents with my black glaze gel pen and some shimmer to various parts of their bodies! I also added some “pips” to give the illusion of a watermelon – but when I look at them they could also be strawberries. We won’t dwell on that….
I mounted a sentiment onto a black strip, and then onto a white background panel. I used my Lil’inker Quilted Stitched Pattern die to create some additional interest to the white background. I popped foam adhesive onto the back of the dragons and their melonised puffs and adhered them all to the card.
I added a few clear sparkling sequins from Pretty Pink Posh, and that finishes the card for today!
It’s a really fun challenge from Danie and it runs until 25th January. I would love to see what you create if you feel like joining in.

Waaaah! How totally and utterly cute! I love how you’ve coloured the dragons and even the smoke the little one is blowing. I always love this challenge. I mean how can you not want to colour something like a melon! I’m so glad your mojo has returned and that it did so in style. Xx
