Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well.
It seems like it has been a while since I made a card, a few weeks in fact, life has been busy. But today I am back with a simple card, using Copic colouring and stencilling.
Here is my card for today.
I got the floral stamp from a crafty friend of mine for Christmas, and thought it was high time I put it to use. I started off by cutting a stitched square from Neenah Solar White cardstock, and I stamped the image using Memento Tuxedo Black so that I could colour it with Copics. I used my MISTI to stamp the image as it is an acrylic stamp and I thought it may need to be stamped twice, but it did very well indeed. I have listed the Copics that I used below, and I went with bold colours, as I wanted the image to really pop.
Once I had finished colouring, I set the panel aside, and then took a 5″ x 5″ square base card. I masked off a border around the edge and then I stencilled some little dots for the background. I didn’t want to detract from the image, but wanted to give some interest, so I went with Weathered Wood Distress Ink and I used my Clarity Brush as I wanted a soft look, and you can achieve this more easily than with a blending tool.
I put some craft foam on the back of the image panel and adhered it to the base. I then stamped the sentiment onto some white card and popped it up using double sided foam tape.
Lastly, I added some Sparkling Clear Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh to finish the card. Well at least I thought I had finished, but I decided to go back around some parts of the image and added some grey shading to help give it a bit of dimension.
A simple card, that is really about the colouring, adding in a little bit of stencilling for fun, because I find it hard to resist!
I hope you like the card and I will be back with another project soon. I wish you a very happy week ahead.

OMG Lisa, your card is absolutely gorgeous ! I really love your colouring and the depth you gave to it with the addition of grey shading on some parts ! Terrific ! And this dotted background helps beautifully to pop up your amazing image ! I love how you succeeded to make it with an ombré effect on the borders. Is it the Clarity brush which help you to make that ? They look so great to use that I tried to find them in France but no way ! Really stunning card !
Hugs !

Such a gorgeous image and your Copic colouring is so good – it really does make the image pop out so well. I’m definitely going to have to get those Clarity brushes because that background is so unbelievably soft and subtle, and just enough to give a hint but not detract from the image. Gorgeous stuff! xx

I always forget how much I love square cards and how much they let the background show and be an integral part of the design, like your stenciling does here, Lisa! But it’s your beautiful coloring that takes center stage! This is gorgeous!! Hugs, Darnell
