Happy Sunday to you all. I hope you are all well and are enjoying what’s left of your weekend. I am having a lovely relaxing afternoon (if you can call it that when you shoot a video), after a beautiful walk this morning to see the bluebells in full bloom. And a few cows and donkeys thrown in for good measure 🙂
Anyhow! I am back today with a watercolour card and a video. Here is my card for today.
And here is the video. As always grab a cuppa, or something stronger if that is your preference. And always remember, somewhere in the world it is happy hour, so you are allowed! And it is only 8 minutes – a record for me!
I started off by stamping the image onto watercoloured cardstock and heat embossing it with white embossing powder. I took my Kuretake Gansai Watercolor paints and coloured the image, working in layers. You can see the process more clearly in the video, but I mostly use a wet on wet technique to create a more fluid and soft look on the tulips. It is best to work in layers and heat set in between.
Once I had coloured the image and heat set the panel, I added a sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I adhered the panel to an American A2 sized base card using double sided adhesive tape. I felt that the image just needed a little something extra (don’t they always?), so I die cut a few scalloped frames, stuck them together and then adhered them to the panel. Finally I added a few sequins for a little bit of bling.
That finishes my project for today. I was really happy with how this came out as I had googled the colour combination and the colours were actually spot on to what I was looking for – this is rare!
Thank you so much for stopping by. As always, please feel free to leave me a comment, I love to hear from you. I will be back soon with another project.
