Hello again friends!
May is a busy month for birthdays, so I am back with a card for a crafty friend who celebrates her birthday today.
Here is my card.
I was very fortunate to win some Power Poppy stamps recently and I absolutely love the Loving Tulips set. I coloured it about a month ago and my friend loved the card, so I made one especially for her with different colour blooms.
Nothing too complicated about this card, it’s really all about the image. I started off by using a die to trace a circle on an A2 panel of Neenah Solar White cardstock. I then used my MISTI to stamp the image using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I wanted to be able to double stamp and there would be no way I would be able to do this with my eyes and without the MISTI!
After colouring it using Copics (listed below), I then took another A2 panel and die-cut a circle aperture. I popped this panel into the MISTI to stamp the sentiment, again twice as I always feel it sharpens the image.
To finish the card I adhered the image panel to a base card and the aperture panel to the top using double sided foam tape.
That finishes my card for today. I really do love this stamp, it’s going to be used a lot! Thank you so much for stopping by. As always I love to hear from you and wish you all a fantastic week.

Absolutely beautifully coloured – I need to take note of the Copic colours for the pinks because mine never ends up that subtle and pretty. Always too loud and garish. Such a simple yet striking card. I agree with you on the double stamping – especially with such a detailed card. My eyes certainly wouldn’t do that without a precision stamping tool! I bet she loved it, especially as you noted that she loved the other one you did. Beautifully done! xx

That’s a stunning image and you’ve colored it beautifully, Lisa! I think it makes it look even more spectacular putting it behind the circle aperture! You’ve really got a great design eye!! (Why do we always use a singular “eye” with those types of expressions? “You’ve got a keen eye for … “. What does the other eye do while all that is going on, I wonder?) Hugs, Darnell
