Hello friends
I am back with a project for you today using stencils and paste. I made this a few weeks back as I was taking the Online Card Classes Rainbow Maker Class and I sent this card to Jennifer McGuire who is one of the owners of Online Card Classes.
So, here is my card for today.
To make the card, I adhered my panel of cardstock to my work surface and then adhered the stencil on top. I then applied various colours of Distress Inks around the panel using a mini ink blending tool. Next I cleaned my stencil and then stuck it back down again. This is so that I wouldn’t drag colours from the stencil into my paste as I applied it.
Once reattached, I took some Dreamweaver Transluscent Embossing Paste and put a line of it on my craft mat just at the top of the panel. I then used a palette knife to drag the paste down over my project. I find applying it like this can give a smoother finish. As this stencil is quite intricate though, I did end up adding extra bits of paste here and there making sure every part was covered, so it did end up with a little bit of texture, which I actually liked.
I then left it to dry overnight. I made the fatal error of trying to cut my previous panel too quickly and of course messed it up as it wasn’t dry! The following day I adhered the dried panel to my base card. The transluscent paste dries a little shiny and the colours come through really well.
I die cut “friend” twice from white cardstock, and once from black and stacked them up. I added some Versamark ink to the top, some clear embossing powder and heat set, so it also a lovely gloss.
Lastly, I white heat embossed the smaller sentiment onto a scrap of black cardstock and popped this up with foam tape. Some sequins finished the card off.
That finishes the card for today. As always, thank you so much for stopping by, I do appreciate it. I will be back soon with another project.

As I said on IG, this is gorgeous and perfectly shows off your style and i’m glad you told me that she loves it because I don’t know who wouldn’t. I love the rainbow colours and they do shine with that translucent paste and with the glossy accents it’s nice and shiny. Works really well against that pop of black in the middle. A really gorgeous card!
