I am back today with a project for a very dear crafty friend of mine who has just moved house. It’s been a bit of a stressful time for her, so it is nice to see her get over the finish line!
Here is my card for today
This card came together quite easily as the background I had made a few months ago for a different project. In the end I didn’t use it, it didn’t work at the time, but I was rifling through my stash of already created panels and saw it and thought it would make a lovely backdrop for this pretty floral.
It was created by doing some watercolour through a stencil using Altenew Dye Inks. From memory, I laid the stencil down on the cardstock, inked through the stencil and then spritzed with water – it’s a very fluid look!
So, I started by cutting it with a stitched rectangle die to give it a bit of interest around the edge. I then took my Altenew Amazing You stamp set (LOVE) and heat embossed the floral image using Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. Isn’t that gold just super pretty against the soft yellows and pink/purple?
I then found a greeting in a Clearly Besotted set called Happily Ever After which of course you would normally use for the happy couple on their wedding day. BUT the “happily ever after” sentiment seemed to be the perfect one for the card. How often do you find the right sentiment, size and font? Me, hardly ever! So I merrily heat embossed that too. Found a gorgeous pack of Iridescent White sequins in my stash from Lucy’s Cards and added a few as finishing touches. I attached the panel using double sided adhesive tape to a white linen A2 base card.
So that completes my card for today. I wish Ruth and her family many many happy years in their new home and I hope it is all they dreamed of.
I will be back soon with another project and thank you as always for visiting.
