Hello friends
I am popping in with a quick post.
Tomorrow is a special day because it is the birthday of someone that you may know. She is very well known in our crafty world and runs a hugely popular 30-day colouring challenge – yes, it’s Kathy Racoosin of The Daily Marker. I am fortunate enough to be asked to be one of her Goodwill Ambassadors on this current colouring challenge – which means I get the honour of seeing the work of thousands around the world.
So a bunch of girls that know Kathy got together to make her some cards to celebrate her special day, and here is my card.
I did want to do a Copic coloured card but sadly I have some wrist problems at the moment so am giving them a little rest. I did manage a small bit of Zig colouring for this card though.
I started off by stamping the flowers with Versamark onto vellum and heat setting with gold sparkle embossing powder. I then die cut them out. I used two colours of Zigs on each flower and did VERY simple colouring. If you go carefully and don’t add too much you can avoid your vellum warping 🙂
Next I cut a scalloped panel and worked out where the flowers would be placed. I then took a small foliage leaf stamp and once more stamped and heat embossed with gold sparkle powder.
The flowers have small foam pads behind them to pop them up a little. My greeting was stamped in Hero Arts Tide Pool ink with a smattering of sequins to embellish. The scalloped panel was adhered to the blue mat with double sided adhesive tape and then onto a A2 top folding base card.
Wishing our lovely Kathy a very very happy birthday! Kathy is such an amazing talent – she is a master with Copic colouring and is pretty fab at other mediums too, particularly pencils. Her website is linked above and you can also find her over on Instagram if you are not already a dedicated follower.
Thank you for stopping by, I wish you all a great week ahead. I am always happy to hear from you and if you have any questions, I would love to answer them.

Oh Lisa, I know she’s going to adore this – it has flowers and beautiful colouring and it’s a gorgeously simple design. That gold embossing powder just stands out so beautifully and it’s lovely on the vellum – something I just don’t make any use of really. Beautiful as always! xx
