Hello there friends!
I hope you are all well. Is a little grey where you are? Maybe, maybe not, but if it is, here is a rainbow to make things brighter. Did you have to grab your sunglasses?
I made this recently for a friend of mine who I know likes rainbow cards and I wanted to let her how grateful I am for her friendship. So I started by watercolouring a panel using rainbow colours. I took out my trusty Kuretake Gansai Tambi paints and just worked in sections blending each colour into the other as I went. I did 4 layers in total and heat set the first three – I left the last to dry naturally, so that it would be a little more vibrant.
I then took a Winnie & Walter “Thanks” die and cut out a section from the rainbow panel and then die cut another from white cardstock. I simply inlaid the white cardstock “thanks” back into the rainbow panel. To do this you need to add some double sided adhesive behind the die cut area so that your inlaid die cut has something to stick to.
And I made sure to save all the little extra pieces from the coloured panel to slot back in. Except I couldn’t find the teeny tiny little green dot so popped a white one in and coloured it with a matching Copic marker 🙂
Lastly I stamped a sentiment from Wplus9 Hand Lettered hello (an oldie but goodie stampset), popped it up on foam tape and added a scattering of sequins.
That finishes the card for today. I wish you all a very happy week and I will back soon with another card.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
