Hello friends!
It’s Friday! Are you ready for a little bit of cuteness? Today’s non Christmas card features some hedgehogs, and can be used for a whole manner of occasions.
I made this card a few weeks back. It started off as a card with 3 balloons on a distress ink sky-type background and ended up as this! Funny how that can happen….
So after an hour of colouring balloons, inking a background up and playing around with design and disliking everything about the whole card, I threw everything to one side, but saved the sentiment as I wanted to use that. I rummaged around in my pre-coloured images stash and found these Copic coloured hedgehogs from My Favorite Things. At this point I also decided to somehow use my very underused snow drifts die.
The My Favorite Things snow drift panel was die cut from white card and adhered with wet adhesive to a Simon Says Stamp Fog coloured card base. I put some of the white sections back into the bottom two sections. I then stamped the sentiment (Everyday Greetings from Mama Elephant). And promptly messed it up, even with the MISTI, so had to pull out the section and redo that bit.
After re-stamping it onto a new white inlaid section (sigh), I popped the hedgehogs and mushroom onto the panel with some foam tape, added a heart from my stash, made the heart and mushroom sparkle and shine with some shimmer pen and glossy accents and the card was done.
So the whole exercise took about two hours and this was the end result. Have to say I did like the final card but boy oh boy… sometimes the cardmaking process is long winded and takes many turns along the way!
Happy crafting everyone! Thanks for stopping by, and I will see you all soon.

I LOVE the end result, but I am so with you. Sometimes, sometimes, card making can be cruel. Really cruel. You got through it though and it is such a sweet card. Those hedgehogs are just adorable and I love the way you used the snowdrifts die. It could work really well with a whole load of layouts. I’m glad you persevered and came through it, it was worth the two hours 🙂 xxx
