Hello again friends!
I hope you are all enjoying the Christmas festivities if you celebrate. I was hoping to post this card just before Christmas but it took a really long time to get to Australia so I didn’t get to wish you all happy holidays.
Today’s card is another thank you card for a crafty friend of mine. One of the things I am most grateful for in this hobby is the friends that I have made around the world – and that needs to be celebrated. Often.
So here is my card for today.
Boy do I LOVE this stamp. This is the Simon Says Stamp Flora Background stamp and I have been using it a lot so it was a good buy for me – yay! I heat embossed the stamp using white powder onto kraft – one of my favourite looks for a card. And then I coloured with my Faber Castell Polychromos pencils. And the good news is, this is VERY simple colouring, the areas are really small so you don’t even need to blend.
I took three different colours and then just set about colouring, leaving some areas clear altogether. I just tried to balance the three colours over the panel.
And then for the sentiment – the usual hmmm’ing and haaa’ing went on and eventually I decided on using a vellum heart, stacking a few “thanks” die cuts together, adhering them onto the vellum, and then adding a popped up sentiment. I really didn’t want to lose too much of the pretty background.
Isn’t that Raspberry Jam ink colour just beautiful and fortunately a perfect match. It’s from Hero Arts.. you know, just in case you want to go sales shopping….
That finishes today’s card. As always I hope that you like the card and I thank you for visiting me today. You are always welcome and appreciated.
I will be back soon with another card.

I’m in love with this, Lisa! Love the white on kraft, and the coloring colors are superb too!

Wow! Now that background stamp is such a beauty and it’s perfect on Kraft with those pops of colour on it. Just love the colourway you’ve chosen too – you are right about that pink colour, and I am not a fan of pink much at all, but this is so deep and just like raspberry jam. A perfect way to celebrate friendship! Xx
