Good morning crafters!
I am sure many of you are taking part in Kathy Racoosin’s 30 Day Colouring Challenge during the month of February. If you want to read all about it, click here. You can play along anytime this month, so if you haven’t already joined in, what are you waiting for?
I wanted to share a couple of cards that I made last week under the guise of “colouring”as I am not sure that ink stamping really quite counts, but on this occasion I am going to say it does.
Here are the completed cards that I made.
For both cards, I used Hero Arts Butter Bar and Bubble Gum inks which make a really pretty combination and when overlapped, create a soft marigold colour.
For the card on the left, I randomly inked up my Hero Arts Bold Floral Prints background stamp with both inks and then pressed my paper down onto the stamp as it is easier to get a solid impression this way. I trimmed the panel to size, and added it to a white card base, adding a gold and a pink strip down the left hand side. I then die cut my Clearly Besotted “happy” greeting twice from gold cardstock and adhered them together to give the greeting some dimension. Before adhering it to my inked panel, I wound some gold thread into a circle and tucked it behind the greeting, using the greeting to hold it in place. I then stamped the “birthday” greeting onto some gold card and heat embossed it with my Hero Arts white embossing powder. To finish the card off, I added a random selection of sequins from Lucy’s Little Things and Hobbycraft.
For the card on the right, I took my Tim Holtz Gothic Stencil and again, randomly inked through the stencil. I trimmed the panel to size and mounted it onto some pink card. I then die cut the Clearly Besotted “birthday” greeting twice from gold card, to give it a bit of dimension and adhered it with Cosmic Shimmer acrylic glue. I embossed my WPlus9 “a happy” sentiment onto gold card and trimmed it to size, placing it on the panel using foam squares. I then finished the card by adding some Liquid Pearls in White Opal and Pastel Raspberry.
These were really simple to put together and I will definitely be doing some more like this in the future with different colour inks.
All comments are welcome and thank you for stopping by.
