Good afternoon everyone, I hope you are all well. It’s been hard to stay in the craft room this week as it has been so humid here in the UK. As you know heat rises, so I have been melting onto my projects. Not good. And especially when nearly every one requires the use of the heat embossing tool, I may as well try and craft in a sauna!
Enough of that…. I am back today with a quick but fun card. I am entering this into Darnell’s fabulous NBUS challenge, which starts today. The aim of the challenge is to break out your Never Before Used Schtuff (NBUS) and make a card – the theme is “Anything Goes”. You can find all the rules on Darnell’s blog, and I thought I would play along for the first time.
Here is my card. Not a flower in sight! Occasionally I turn my hand to other styles, and this time it’s cute monsters.
A really simple card to make. I simply applied some Ranger Adirondack Citrus ink through the Circle Burst stencil, making sure that I faded it out slightly towards the edges. I then stamped one of the monsters onto Copic friendly cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured him (her?) with Copic markers and used the Colourless Blender to take some colour out at the end, hopefully giving the impression that he is slightly warty :-). Once I had fussy cut the monster out, I ran my tuxedo black marker around the edges to give a more finished look. Both the stencil and the stamp set were unused supplies, so tick, tick for the challenge!
To finish the card, I die cut a vellum circle and adhered the monster using double sided foam tape. I stamped the sentiment on two pieces of white card and cut them to size, inserting them just under his little warty body. I then adhered the whole panel onto a 5″ x 5″ square base card.
I hope you like this card, I think he’s cute and I always love an excuse to break out the stencils.
