Today I have the absolute pleasure of taking part in a mini blog hop to celebrate the release of some new digital stamps designed by one of my crafty friends, Steph. Steph is launching some gorgeous digital stamps today and over the coming few weeks and today, I am showcasing the first stamp.
Here is my card, using “Joyeux Noel”.
To begin, I printed the sentiment onto some white Neenah cardstock and die cut it with one of my pierced circle stax dies from My Favorite Things. I then die cut 3 circle apertures from a piece of A2 cardstock and three corresponding circles from two layers of craft foam. In hindsight, I didn’t actually need the bottom circle as it was covered over with the sentiment, but it didn’t really matter that it was there!
I glued the two layers of craft foam together and then adhered a slightly smaller than A2 acetate sheet on the top of the craft foam stack. I turned the stack over and placed a selection of sequins into each of the top two circles to make two little shaker pockets.
I took an A2 piece of white card and ink blended the top section so that there would be some colour visible in the shaker circles. and then adhered it to the back of the shaker stack, sealing all the sequins inside.
All that was left was for me to decorate the front panel. I had previously Copic coloured some images from Lawn Fawn’s Cheery Christmas set, so I adhered them to the front of the circles using Cosmic Shimmer acrylic glue. I added some sparkle to the star, candy canes, the bow on the nut, and to the lights. I then added some Glossy Accents on top of the same pieces as well as the little bluebird!
I added some double sided foam adhesive onto the back of the sentiment circle and popped it into the third aperture, and stuck the little bird to the top of the word. Finally, I adhered the whole stack onto a white A2 card base.
I have to say, I really love the font of this stamp, and I am sure it is going to find a way onto lots of my Christmas cards – I think it will look particularly lovely embossed in gold on vellum. If you wish to purchase any of Steph’s new stamps, please visit her Etsy store.
The next stop on the hop is the very talented Ruth Andrews.
To celebrate this release, Steph is very kindly giving away a digital stamp to one person on each blog.
