Hello there friends
Today I am back with another project using an unused stamp for our Work Your Stash Wednesday challenge. This week our theme is to use an unused or rarely used stamp.
To be fair I only received this stamp just after Christmas, so it hasn’t been hanging around for too long, but today was the perfect opportunity to use it. I started off with heat embossing the image in gold embossing powder onto some Winsor & Newton Bristol cardstock. This is a really smooth white cardstock, that is ideal for using with watercolour markers – particularly Zigs.
I set about colouring the image using a selection of markers (details below in supplies). I added some depth with a slightly darker shade where I thought appropriate, but I wanted this to be quite a loose watercolour look, so I wasn’t prescriptive about it.
Once dried, I took the stamp, covered my watercoloured image, and added some splatters with a black zig marker. This didn’t work well so I took a black pan from my Gansai Tambi palette and added some more with that. To add the splatters, I scribble the marker onto an acrylic block and add water and then flick it over the project with a brush. I did a similar thing with the paint. They worked out better with the paint – but splatters are unpredictable and for some reason today, they were very small and looked more like a spray. But still, I think it looked pretty.
I took my Hero Arts Rectangle Infinity die set and cut three frames, stuck them together using a wet adhesive and then attached them to the finished panel. I then adhered this whole piece to a Neenah Solar White 80lb top folding card base. Lastly, I heat embossed the sentiment using gold powder and adhered it to the panel, using double sided adhesive and added a few sequins to finish it off.
Thank you for joining me as always, I appreciate you stopping by and leaving a comment – I do love to read them. All supplies are listed below and I will be back soon with another project. I hope you have a great week!

Gosh, Lisa, you have WOWED me completely with another gorgeous watercolor floral work of art!! It’s fitting that you put a frame on it, because it needs to stay in your home as room decor!! Well done using your NBUS and your RUS!! Hugs, Darnell

Loving all your inspiration for this challenge – and loving that it makes me wnat to use all my NBUS. I think I’ll try out a stamp I have had for about 2.5 years and never used….. wish me luck. This is a beautiful stamp and perfect for your Zigs. I absolutely LOVE the gold embossing powder with the bright of the Zigs and your splatter did work out – I rather like it as spray. Another beauty! xx
