Hello friends!
I have some very exciting news to share with you today. I was contacted recently and asked if I would like to join the Clearly Besotted Design Team! What a lovely email that was to receive and of course I said yes a hundred times over! Such a thrill to be joining a fabulous team of talented and creative cardmakers and of course getting to play with all those gorgeous stamps. I have always been a big fan of Clearly Besotted and I am sure you are too.
Clearly Besotted are now moving back to monthly releases, with countdown teasers in the run up to the release of stamps on the 1st of each month.
So without further ado, my first teaser card for the March release had to be a floral. And to show the technique I used, I made a little video for you. The stamp is the very pretty Spring Tulips set and I couldn’t wait to ink it up.
I started by stamping and masking the tulips along the bottom of the card. For this project I used Hahnemühle Britannia Rough 300gsm cardstock and I stamped them using Versafine Onyx Black Ink which is waterproof. I then set about colouring the tulips using watercolour pencils and working in layers. I used very little water and let each layer dry in between. You don’t need too many layers to get some depth with these pencils, as they are very pigmented – a little goes a long way.
When I created my practice panel for the card, I added a blue background which looked pretty. However, when I filmed the card, I changed my mind and decided to add a different colour – I really felt that I wanted something more bold, but still fresh and clean and maybe a bit unexpected, so I went for an apple green.
After finishing all the colouring, I stamped the sentiment from Clearly Besotted Scrumptious Script and then die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle.
To finish the card, I adhered a few sequins with Ranger Multi Medium Matte and mounted the panel onto an A2 base card (4.25″ x 5.50″) using double sided adhesive tape.
I really hope that you like the card and enjoyed the video. I will be sharing a few more cards over the coming days – it really is a fabulous release with stamps to tempt you, whatever you like to colour.
All stamps will be available to purchase from Clearly Besotted or Simon Says Stamp from 1st March, 8pm GMT. I will update the direct links below after the release goes live. All sets, except for the sentiment set, will have coordinating dies and there is a giveaway, so please keep reading to see how to enter!
Do hop over to my fellow Design Team members Stephanie, Michelle and Keren and also to Rubeena who is guest designing for Clearly Besotted this month and see what they have made – it is sure to be inspiring!

I’ve been seeing these sneak peeks pop up on instagram, and I’m so excited! These are gorgeous, and I love your coloring. I think the apple green is a really fun choice for a background color; it really helps all those pinks and purples pop (say that three times fast). Thanks for sharing with us, and congrats on joining the design team!

What a great video. You make it seem so straightforward. Thank you for making me feel encouraged enough to have a go with the watercolour pencils sitting, unused, in a pot on a shelf.
