Hello there friends! Today I have a card for you which features a die from the new Simon Says Stamp Best Days release. This is another fantastic release from Simon Says Stamp and it launches today (8th March). Hold onto your wallets 🙂
So here is my card using the new Blooming Circle die which Simon Says Stamp very kindly sent me to play with.
Isn’t this such a pretty die? When I saw it I couldn’t help but think of rainbow colours. I started off by taking some Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock and running it through my die cutting machine with both the Stitched Rectangle and Blooming Circle dies. I then placed the panel over my card base and made little pencil marks on my base card at the outermost parts of the die cut section.
I masked off a suitable area on the base card (just outside of the pencil marks) and erased the pencil marks from the card. I applied distress inks in rainbow order within the masked area all the while checking how it looked when I held the circle over it.
I took the top panel and stamped the I Love You sentiment into the middle section and I die cut the word “hello” three times from black cardstock. I adhered the three die cuts together to give them some dimension and added three coats of Wink of Stella so it really sparkles.
The top panel was adhered with craft foam so that it has some dimension and then I added some jewels to each of the flowers. They are very sparkly in the packet, but when you stick them down over the ink they take on that colour but still retain some sparkle. You may be able to see that a bit better in the picture above.
That finishes my card for today. I like the brightness of this card and the contrast of the black. Its really pretty in real life – hard to capture all the sparkle at the moment as we have a lot of grey days.
Thank you as always for visiting. I hope you like the card and I will be back soon with another project.

When you sneaked it on IG, I thought it was perfectly you with the rainbow colours. Just gorgeous and you managed to not make them all brown and yucky which is usuall what happens when I try to do rainbow colours! Loved the added jewels and the contrast of the black sentiment. A gorgeous card. xx

Hi Lisa, I saw your card on IG but I thought I’d pop over here as well! It’s so pretty – I love how you used the die with the blended background. Always hard to photograph sparkle, but I can see the jewels sparkling away in your different photos!
