Hello there friends
I am back today with a CAS card for you.
I have wanted this stencil and die from Simon Says Stamp for absolutely ages and finally purchased them a few weeks ago. The stencil is a great one to have in your stash – it has a positive and negative element and I think it would be great for both masculine and feminine cards.
I started by taking a piece of Windsor & Newton Bristol Board Extra Smooth Surface cardstock as it’s great for ink blending. I taped the stencil down and applied three shades of Altenew dye ink. I left the stencil on and gave it a spritz of shimmer spray, so it’s really pretty in real life, and has a few leaves that kind of have a mottled effect where the spray moved the ink slightly. Unintentional but a happy result! I then die cut the panel and put it to one side.
I took the love die and cut it twice from gold cardstock and adhered them together for some dimension. Next I placed the panel into the cardstock and stamped my sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink.
Lastly, I adhered the die cut sentiment onto the panel and added a few dew drops. The whole panel was added onto an A2 based card with craft foam.
I had no idea where this card was going when I started and often they end up better that way! I loved how this came out in the end. And this week the Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge is all about ink blending, so I shall enter it into that.
Wishing you all a very happy weekend – in the UK we have some public holidays and as is often the case, the rain is falling. Sigh. I will be back soon with another project and as always, I thank you for visiting me.

Great use of that stencil and I aDoRe the way the Love die mimics the loop of the leaf! Very pretty

Gorgeous, Lisa ! I understand why you wanted both, the stencil and the die ! This “love” sentiment is really beautiful ! And both together make such a delicate card. With these colours it can be either for a man or a woman. Really beautiful. Hope you’re enjoying your Easter WE. I take advantage that, after the big lunch, everybody is resting on the couch to visit my fave blogs ! Hugs xx

I feel a little ashamed that I had this stencil before you and I still haven’t used it – you are spurring me on as I think it is wonderful and you really show case it here. It works so well with the gold sentiment. Really really love this card! xx
