Hello there friends
I was very excited and honoured to be contacted recently by Yana Smakula on behalf of Spellbinders. Yana asked me if I would like to receive a couple of products to play with and of course I was very happy to do so! So I eagerly awaited my package and I have a video for you today featuring one of the two dies that was sent to me. I will feature the second die in a later post.
The dies that I received are from the Spellbinders Little Loves collection by Sharyn Sowell and I have to say there are some really fabulous dies in the collection – many of which you can combine with beautiful background techniques.
So, I decided to do a watercolour background for my card and I combined it with a watercolour lifting technique which I hadn’t done for quite some time.
Here is my card for today.
And here is the video for you to enjoy.
The background was created with layers of paint and dried in between, I then laid a stencil over the top and took away some of the paint with a baby wipe. I love the look that it created, perfect for clouds.
I hope that you like the card, I was really happy with how it turned out. I don’t often use dies as my focal point on a card (unless it’s a sentiment) so this was a great challenge for me, and an opportunity to get my paints out is always one worth taking!
Thank you so much for stopping by and taking the time to read my blog. I appreciate all of your visits and comments. I will be back soon with another project for you, and in the meantime I wish you a great weekend. Happy crafting!

What an honor, Lisa, but you totally deserve the recognition and the compliment!! Your talent with design and color is very evident in the way you used this awesome fun die! And what a great and easy way to make clouds!! Hugs, Darnell

This is absolutely gorgeous! I just love the technique used – not one I often use myself. I also don’t use dies a lot, but you’ve made me rethink that older ones I have in my collection. Off to watch your video! xx
