Hello again friends!
Welcome back to Day 2 of the countdown teasers for the Clearly Besotted May release. Today I am using the fabulous Happy Hula set – this is a super sweet mini set, full of lovely fun images just perfect for creating a little tropical scene.
I’m not going to lie, this took me a little bit of time as I changed my mind on the design a few times. What I often do when working out my card is either make a sketch, or sometimes I just stamp and colour all the images and then play around with placement. For this card, I did a mix of both!
I stamped all the images from the set onto some Neenah Solar White cardstock and Copic coloured them. The flowers I stamped several times so I would have a healthy amount to choose from! I didn’t actually use all my coloured images, but that’s OK, I have some ready for another card. I fussy cut my images but there are coordinating dies available.
Next I took an A2 piece of cardstock and die cut it with a stitched circle die and also with a large stitched rectangle die. I placed the panel over my base card and very lightly marked the circle area and then took some Distress Inks and blended a tropical coloured background onto the base card. At this point, I also stamped the black lines for the lanterns.
The sand was created by die cutting a stitched hillside, blending Antique Linen Distress Ink over it and adding little dots with Copics to give the illusion of sand.
All that I needed to do now was to pull the card together. I adhered the sand to the back of the circle aperture and stuck the whole panel to the base using DST. The hula girl was popped up with foam tape and the lanterns were adhered to the bottom of the black lines with foam tape. Flowers were given a lot of shimmer and arranged around the circle using wet adhesive or foam tape.
To finish the card, I stamped a sentiment from Flag It, trimmed it to leave a white border and then popped that onto the card with foam tape. Such an adorable set and a lovely card to have ready to send to someone just to tell them they are fabulous!
As always, thank you for visiting. Please hop over to Stephanie, Michelle and Keren to see what they have in store for you. I guarantee you will fall in love – they are all so talented!
I will be back tomorrow with my final countdown card for you.

That background just says it all to me really. Makes me want to fly out to somewhere exotic, stick on my grass skirt, and hula away. I’d get banned and thrown in jail, but to feel like she does, would be worth it. The added texture on the sand is perfect. Another good one!! xx

This card is absolutely brilliant and brings a big smile to my face 😀 Love the bright colours, much needed on this grey dreary Saturday morning! Thank you for leaving such sweet comment on my blog and instagram Lisa, I worry that all my cards are rather mediocre and samey and you always pick me up and boost my confidence *MWAH& xoxo
