Hello friends
Apologies, but I am back again with another birthday card for you! And I am using the same stamp set as a few days ago – Even More Spring Flowers from Simon Says Stamp. Since I had coloured a bunch of images a few days ago, I didn’t want to waste any, so made another birthday card, and changed the design and colours up a little.
The flowers were stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink onto some Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock, and then watercoloured with Zigs (colours below). They were then fussy cut and I went around the edges with a black marker – this gives them a better finish.
I took a piece of navy cardstock, and applied Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink through a stencil to the top left hand side – I wanted this to be a horizontal top folding card and thought the flowers would work well in the top left corner.
I did my usual faffing around with placement and cut several of the bunches of leaves apart so that I could balance them around the flowers and quickly took a photo! I then adhered them to the base card with wet glue and foam tape.
I pulled out some other greetings and played around with them, but in the end decided on using the Happy Birthday sentiment as I did on the previous card. I am desperately low on birthday cards and always need a lot of these.
Lastly, the sequins were added with wet adhesive and a boatload of patience as my jewel picker has lost its tackiness and me and tweezers are not friends when it comes to placing sequins. The life of a crafter!
Anyway, they are on and have stayed on! And that finishes my card for today. I will leave you alone for a few days and hope that you enjoy whatever the weekend brings you. I will be watching the Royal Wedding from the comfort of my sofa despite it not being too far away from home! And we will be devouring some Mint Choc Chip Ice Cream whilst it’s on – it kind of became a tradition in my house when I was growing up that we have Mint Choc Chip on Royal Wedding days (there were more of them back then) – and who am I to break the tradition?!
Before I forget, I will be entering this card into the following challenges
- Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge
- Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge
- Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thanks for paying me a visit, and I will be back to share another project soon.

Oh Lisa, I love how you’ve used the navy card stock on this and actually think I prefer it to the last one! Now I know what the mint choc chip ice cream was for 🙂 So exciting that you’ve used this set twice now – I need to push myself to use my stamp sets way more than once! xx
