Hello crafty friends
Another month has flown by and I am back with the start of the Clearly Besotted countdown teasers for the July release – yay! There are some fantastic new sets coming in this release – something maybe a little bit unexpected in some of the sets, but more of that tomorrow.
Today’s card features a gorgeous new floral mini stamp set called My Mother.
I started by stamping the image onto some Winsor & Newton Extra Smooth Bristol Board cardstock using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I then set about colouring it with my Zigs and this time, I tried to use slightly different greens to what I usually use, and I steered away from pink and went to purple! Once I had coloured the leaves and flowers, I then added a blue outline around the image to make it pop a little bit more. The colours are listed below if you would like to know what I used.
I adhered the image panel with double sided tape to an A2 top folding base card made from Neenah Solar White 100lb cardstock. Then I took another panel of white cardstock and die cut a circle to the right hand side. I added some foam tape behind this panel for dimension and set it to one side.
To add some extra interest to the card, I took the Basic Stripes set and stamped diagonal stripes down the left hand side of the coloured panel using Versafine Onyx Black ink before adhering my die cut circle panel on top and shifting it slightly to the right to let the stripes show. I trimmed off any excess from the panel on the right hand side.
Next I took some black cardstock, stamped my sentiment from Brushed Sentiments using Versamark ink, added some white embossing powder and heat set it. This was trimmed down and popped onto the panel with foam tape.
Lastly, I added a few sequins from Lucy’s cards to finish my project – such a pretty sequin mix with a really good mix of sizes of sequins.
Zig colours used: Olive Green (43), Mid Green (46), Purple (82), Light Violet (81) and Light Blue (36)
