I am back today with a card for the second day of the countdown teasers for the Clearly Besotted July Release. I mentioned yesterday that Clearly Besotted have something a little bit different for you for the July release, and today I am showcasing one of several sets which contain the most adorable critter layering images.
So here is my card for today. I am featuring the super cute Cute Koala set – this is a large set and contains three sizes of koala and of course includes the sweetest little baby koala – everybody say ahhhhhh!
I began by stamping the koalas onto some Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock using Altenew inks and an acrylic block. There are three layers to each koala and they are very easy to line up. I started with my lightest ink (Morning Frost) for the base layer, then Evening Gray for the second layer, and I finished with Moon Rock for the final layer. I then stamped the cute little eyes and noses with Versafine Onyx Black ink and fussy cut the koalas out. There will be coordinating dies if you wish to purchase them.
To prepare my background, I took another piece of Neenah 80lb cardstock, masked off the side areas with some Frog Tape and then taped my stencil down on top. I blended Twisted Citron Distress Oxide ink through the stencil, cleaned it, lined it up again and then applied a transluscent texture paste over the top – so you get a lovely shine when it dries.
All I needed to do then was assemble the card. So once dry, I trimmed the stencilled panel down slightly and adhered it to an A2 fog cardstock base using DST. I then stamped the sentiment on a fog cardstock strip, using Versafine Onyx Black ink and adhered that to the panel with foam tape. The sentiment is from Pawfect Plushies which was part of the June release. The koalas were then adhered also with foam tape.
As is always the case, I felt it needed a little something else, so I took a small heart die and cut 4 from red cardstock, glued them together, added some shimmer and adhered the little stack to the panel using Ranger Multi Medium Matte. I really like the little pop of red on the card. To finish I added some glossy accents on the heart and some black glaze gel pen to the eyes and noses.
I will be back tomorrow with the next teaser card. Thank you as always for stopping by, I appreciate all your visits and comments.
