Hello again my friends!
Today is the third day of the countdowns for the Clearly Besotted July release, and today I am sharing a card using one of the larger sets, Sweet Berries. As soon as I saw this set, I fell in love – at this time of year, who does not look forward to eating those delicious berries. Especially with meringue and cream!
I started by double stamping the image using Versafine Onyx Black ink onto watercolour cardstock using my MISTI and then I set it to one side whilst I decided on what medium to use. I settled on Distress Inks as they had the right colour red for the strawberries, although they do look a bit pink in the photo below – they are a bright red in real life!
I worked in layers making sure to move to areas that were not touching parts that I had just painted, to avoid any bleeding. At the end, I decided to add a wash around the berries, so I took Antique Linen Distress Ink and applied that, fading it out towards the outer part of the panel.
I then made a (daft?) decision to include a little bit of twine as I knew I was going to mount the card onto Neenah Desert Storm cardstock and I thought it would tie in with the rustic look. Tying the bow took me almost as long as doing the watercolouring! No surprise there if you are a regular reader – I am not the best at tying bows but one must persevere for the craft! It was secured at the back with tape.
Next I mounted the panel onto the top folding Desert Storm base card using DST and I went on to create the sentiment. The sentiment is also from the Sweet Berries set and it was stamped with Versamark Ink onto black cardstock and heat set with white embossing powder. This was popped onto the panel using foam tape.
Lastly I spent an unhealthy amount of time looking for the right sequins and after pontificating over several options, I added varying sizes of iridescent sequins using Ranger Multi Medium Matte. And that finishes my card for today and after I finish this blog post, I shall be rushing out to pick up a punnet or two!
As always, it would be lovely if you could hop over to Stephanie, Keren and Michelle and see what they have created today.
I will be back tomorrow with my final teaser card before the release goes live on 1st July at 8pm BST. Thank you as always for stopping by, I appreciate all your visits and comments. Happy crafting!

Oh this is really cute very ‘vintage summer’ I like it! Your watercolouring is brilliant with this image! xx

The twine is a brilliant addition to it. Reminds me of the hay that they use to stop the strawberries going mushy and mouldy on the soil below. Worth taking the time to tie. And your colouring, well, as always beautifully loose with the perfect colours. xx

This is beautiful, Lisa! I love the rustic look to
It and the twine works perfectly, even if it did take hours to tie the bow! xx
