Hello and welcome back to the final day of my teasers for the July release from Clearly Besotted. I hope that you have enjoyed seeing all the new sets this week – they will be available to purchase on Sunday 1st July at 8pm BST.
My final card features another stamp layering set. This set is called Wild Times and contains a lovely array of the cutest wild animals. I am featuring the zebra, which is actually just the one layer as it is black and white.
For this card, I wanted to have a really bright background to contrast with the stark black and white of the zebra (and sentiment). And I wanted it to have a look of an African sunset – so I kicked off by blending Candied Apple, Abandoned Coral, Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade onto a small panel of Bristol Board cardstock.
Next I started pulling the other card elements together. I double stamped the zebra using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, fussy cut it and set it to one side. There will be coordinating dies available for this set if you are not a fussy cutting fan. I then stamped some clouds from Up In The Air using the same ink and fussy cut them also (this set is now retired, but any clouds will do). A couple of strips of green cardstock were then die cut with the grass die from Garden Fence Die Collection, adhered together and trimmed to size.
I took a panel of Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock and die cut it with a stitched rectangle and also an arch die. I positioned the window panel over the base card and marked out the arch area and then cut the blended panel to size to sit behind. This was adhered to the base using DST.
Foam tape was applied to the back of the window panel and it was then popped up on the base. All I then needed to do was pop up the zebra and clouds with foam tape and adhere the grass strip with wet adhesive along the bottom.
I took a sentiment from Tiny Type, stamped it with Versamark Ink, applied white embossing powder and then heat set. This was adhered with a mix of foam tape and glue as it straddles the window and base panels.
Thank you as always for your company this week – I do appreciate it. I will be back tomorrow with a post to let you know the release is live. Happy crafting!
