Well I don’t know about you, but I’m already wishing it was April or May! I’m not a big fan of winter months, not so much because of the cold, but mostly because of the dark short days. So what to do when you need a little pick me up, but to colour some flowers.
For those of you that saw my mini haul video a few weeks back, you will have seen this beautiful set from Simon Says Stamp – there’s nothing I love more than a gorgeous floral stamp – except for a gorgeous floral stamp that requires no masking! This one is called Sketched Flowers, isn’t it beautiful?
This set was actually part of the September kit from SSS but I was away and wasn’t able to purchase it. Fortunately they released the flower set separately so I was able to pick that up during the Black Friday sale – woo hoo!
So, it was stamped in Memento across a Neenah panel and I merrily coloured away with my Copics. I was experimenting with colours – muted greens, soft bluey purples and some splashes of brighter blue – I love how it came out and it makes a lovely change from pinks (my go-to floral colours!)
I trimmed the panel down and matted it onto a top folding Neenah card base and then die cut the SSS Small Hello twice from black cardstock and stacked them up. This was adhered with wet adhesive and I also added some Majestic Fusion sequins from Studio Katia to embellish.
Yes, the colouring takes a while, but it’s a relaxing process and I enjoyed trying some different colours. The only downside to that is that I now want to buy more Copic colours – there are so many beautiful colours out there to try!
Have a great weekend everyone, I hope you get some crafting time in! Thanks for stopping by as always.

This is one of my favorite stamp sets. I love the color combination you used. I had never thought to color a flower green, but it sure is pretty.

So beautiful! Thank you for sharing the details.

Oh Lisa these are beautiful ! Love the colours you’ve used on them, they look very fresh winter but not cold, hope that made a tiny bit of sense out loud. Must admit the winter never used to bother me till my osteoarthritis in my spine got really bad, now as soon as the temperature drops in frozen like a statue, so yes bring back warmer weather.

Did you use some BVs? They really are a surprising colour and I never thought I’d like them as much as I do, but they really are gorgeous on this! A great stamp to colour and get carried away with really. Beautifully done. xx

Beautiful card! If you are going to buy more copics, you shoud probably do so soon because copics are suppose to go up by up to 40% in 2019 (according to Sandy Allnock) because they haven’t gone up in price in years.
Andrea Hastilow says
Excuse me for tagging in but Sandy did mention in a later video that someone else told her after it might only be 1% increase. But I do agree we should invest before either way. Hope you don’t mind my comment, don’t mean to offend.

This is beautiful. Your colors are lovely. I don’t know how you’ll give it away!
Copics are an investment. When I first started purchasing I would make it a trio. Dark, medium and light. I purchase refills on the colors I use most. That really makes it a more affordable product. They are fun to color with.
