Hello there
It’s getting to the end of the month which means it’s time for the Clearly Besotted Countdown Teasers. My first teaser for the January 2019 release features two new sets – Water Plushies which is a larger set and Picture It Ocean, a smaller stamp set.
You may remember that last month, Clearly Besotted released Picture It Christmas – a really great Christmas scene stamp and this one is just as gorgeous and it makes it so easy for you to create a lovely sea scene.
Today, I wanted to make a bit of a different card for you – so I made an inside tunnel card. I didn’t have a chance to make a video for it, but I followed Jennifer McGuire’s directions from this video to create my base card. So here is the inside view of my card!
I followed Jennifer’s directions to create a top folding inside tunnel card. But for mine, in order to fit my sea scene in, I ended up using it as a side folding card. The directions are very clear, but you do need to think ahead a little if you are going to be doing any ink blending etc on the inside of the “tunnel”.
I stamped Picture It Ocean onto some Neenah cardstock, coloured it with Copics and set it to one side. And then I stamped all the images from Water Plushies also onto Neenah. Before I did any colouring on these, I fussy cut them and worked out what I would place where (so I didn’t end up colouring anything I wouldn’t use). Once I had decided on my final images, I also coloured those with Copics.
For my background “sea”, I used a panel that I created about 6 months ago when playing with Distress Oxides on regular photo paper using a smooshing technique and some Distress Glaze (it has a lovely gloss to it). I trimmed that panel down and adhered it to the back of my tunnel using DST.
Next I fussy cut the ocean scene panel and adhered that on top of my sea with wet adhesive so I had a little wiggle room to make sure it was in the right place. I then adhered my whale, crab and starfish images either with foam tape or with wet adhesive to complete my scene.
For the front of my card I stamped a sentiment onto a white strip and adhered that plus I added a few of the other images from the set. The outside looks very plain but gives a little hint of what is to come when you open it up. To finish the card, I also stamped a sentiment from the set onto SSS Audrey Blue cardstock and adhered that on the inside of the card. That finishes today’s card for you – it took a while but it was really fun to see it come together!
Please hop over to the rest of the DT, Stephanie, Michelle and Keren to see what else they have in store for you. I will be back tomorrow with my next teaser and in the meantime wish you a wonderful day. Thanks for your visit!
