Hello friends!
I was going through my storage tin where I keep my cards that I would like to blog and I discovered this Christmas shaker that I had forgotten to share with you. Yes, I know it’s January, so you can think of this as early Christmas inspiration for next year ๐
This card was actually made after I had mailed all my cards out last year, so I have it ready for this year which is a good thing! I used this snowflake die in a previous shaker card, but this time, I added the sweet little angel instead of just a greeting and I used traditional acetate instead of tulle.
To create the shaker element, I die cut the MFT Snowflake Window die from MFT Summer Splash cardstock and adhered a piece of acetate to the back of the snowflake area. I then die cut a silver glitter frame which was slightly larger than the shaker window panel and I adhered the die-cut panel down onto that with DST. I didn’t want to see silver glitter cardstock through the window – I wanted that to be white, which was why I needed a frame only behind the panel. I added one layer of foam tape onto the back of the panel so there will be slight dimension.
On a mission to use all the tons of sequins I seem to have hoarded, I grabbed a bag of mixed silver sequins and put a heap of them down onto my base card and then adhered my shaker panel on top.
I finished by stamping and colouring the little angel with Copics and die cutting with the coordinating dies. What you can’t see because the light is SO AWFUL here (even with a light box) is all the beautiful sparkle I added to her wings and bow with Ranger Star Dust Stickles. So this card has sparkle in the shaker, the frame and on the image – so pretty in real life!
Lastly, I stamped a greeting from MFT Snow Globe sentiments using Versafine Onyx Black Ink and die cut it with an MFT stitched sentiment strip. The angel and greeting were adhered with DST, so this card really isn’t that bulky at all given that it’s a shaker.
Hope you get some time to craft today, and thank you as always for your visit. I’ll be back soon with something less Christmassy I promise ๐

It’s so great to feel you already have one card there for next Christmas – always a boost and such a shiny and glittery and sparkly one too. Brilliant! Love me a shaker and that is stuffed with sequins. I really should do the same!! I have so many!

Merry Christmas Lisa ! Great card design, beautiful colour & my favourite part a shaker. I can’t make a successful shaker, I seem to get escaping glitter or filler but I do love seeing them. Thank you for sharing your card whatever time of year.

This is so sweet, Lisa! It’s filled to the brim with interactive fun and festivity! That angel is so pretty! Thank you for doing Christmas cards throughout the year; it’s great motivation for me to do the same! I wish you could come over for a coupla days and we could just do a massive shake ‘n bake! I have product out the wazoo for making them, not to mention enough sequints to light up Lost Wages!! Hugs, Darnell
