Hello there
Today I am sharing a card I made a week or so ago when I was doing some colouring for The Daily Marker 30 Day Colouring Challenge. I try and take part each time the lovely Kathy Racoosin runs the challenge but I don’t always colour every day. And on the day I made this card I had no intention of doing anything more than colouring, but suddenly a card was born!
It struck me a few weeks ago that I hadn’t used a lot of my Altenew sets for absolutely ages so I reached for Bamboo Rose to do some colouring – such a pretty set, the bold lines and the modern style really appeal to me and so off I went. I stamped the images onto Neenah with Memento Tuxedo Black, coloured them with Copics and then fussy cut them out. The Copic numbers are listed below if you are interested.
I took a panel of white Neenah and an embossing folder (remember those?) that a dear friend had sent to me recently and I embossed the white panel, trimmed a strip off it and adhered it to my base card with DST. You can’t see the embossing in the photos sadly, but its a floral pattern and gives such a lovely texture to the side of the card – it’s very subtle but really pretty in real life.
Next I took a piece of Fog cardstock, trimmed it down and popped it up with foam tape on my base. Then I set about arranging my images over the top. Once I was happy I took a photo so that I could refer back to it and then started to adhere them. I used a mix of foam tape and wet adhesive to do this – there is lots of dimension on this card, not great for postage, but lovely for the recipient to receive as there is a lot going on in a relatively CAS card.
As always I spent more time on choosing a sentiment and finding the right spot for it than anything else on the card!! I settled with a sentiment from Wild Hibiscus and white heat embossed it onto black cardstock. This was die cut with my ever so useful SSS Sentiment Label Dies and popped onto the card with foam tape. I added some Tonic Nuvo Aqua Shimmer to the flowers and some Tonic Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the small yellow round berries.
In the end, I was really happy with this card and how it looked. It’s good to colour without a long term plan, you never know where it might lead you :). Happy crafting and thank you as always for stopping by, I appreciate it.
Copics used: Flowers (RV00, R81, R83, R85), Leaves (YG01, YG03, YG17), Flowers (V01, V12, V15), Flower Centres/berries (YG00)

I love that this card was just born in a natural way – no intention to make the card, it just happened. Sometimes they are the best. I do love seeing all your Altenew florals. I don’t have any at all, but they do always looks so wonderful to colour with. Grateful for you and your friendship! xx
