Hello crafty friends!
Welcome to day one of the countdown teasers for the Clearly Besotted May release. The new sets will release on May 1st and until then the Design Team will be sharing daily teasers with you. Today I have little sea scene for you featuring one of the new smaller sets called Sweet Seahorse. I have combined it with a few extra images from Under The Sea and a sentiment from Water Plushies. I think it’s great that there are a number of sets you can now use to build your ocean themed cards. I love a sea themed card, but hate being on the sea! Go figure!
The card is simple to create, and as always I began by stamping my images onto Neenah cardstock with Memento. I then coloured them with Copics (numbers are listed below) and fussy cut them out, but there are coordinating dies available for all sets. When I create cards like this I always stamp a few additional images as it can be difficult to know exactly how you want it to look and having extras can really help when building the scene and give you flexibility. You can always keep your spares for your next card!
I took an A2 panel of Neenah and the MFT Stitched Arch Stax set and die cut a window in the panel. This was then popped up onto a top folding card base with foam tape. I then set about arranging my images and once happy, took a photo before adhering them. I used a mix of wet adhesive and foam tape to give some added dimension within the window.
The sentiment is from Water Plushies and this was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black Ink onto some SSS Fog cardstock. It was trimmed with an MFT Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strip and popped up with foam tape.
To finish the card, I added some different sizes of Raindrops from Lucy’s Cards as they look like bubbles, and of course no card is complete without some sparkle. For that I used my Copic Spica pens and dotted little sparkles over parts of the seahorse, fish, starfish and kelp. I love the small nibs on these pens, they really do allow you to get into specific areas and the card is so pretty when you turn it into the light.
That finishes my card for today but please do hop over to Stephanie, Keren and Michelle to see what they have in store for you. As always, thank you for stopping by and feel free to leave me a comment, I love to hear from you! I will be back tomorrow with the second teaser for you. Have a great day!
