Hello there friends, today I am sharing a couple of cards that I created using a beautiful Poppy Stamps die that was sent to me by a lovely crafty friend recently. Intricate die cuts can look beautiful silhouetted against colourful backgrounds and I thought I would show two ways of creating some fun backgrounds aswell as adding some lovely sparkle to your projects.
So here are the two cards I created.
And here is the video for you.
I began by creating the two background panels. The first I created by blending Picked Raspberry, Festive Berries, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed and Twisted Citron Distress Inks onto some Neenah cardstock. I then added a layer of Tonic Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer Paste and left it to dry. The second panel was created by adding strips of bright coloured cardstock onto a white panel which I had applied Stick It Adhesive to – a quick and easy way of adding strips to a panel. Both the coloured panels were then adhered to top folding base cards using DST.
I die cut a floral frame from Simon Says Stamp White Glitter Cardstock and two further frames from white cardstock, adhered them together (using Stick It Adhesive again) and set them to one side. Next I die cut a further 3 floral frames from Neenah and stacked them up also. Ranger Multi Medium Matte was used to adhere both die cut stacks to their respective coloured panels. As part of the die set you get a separate die that just cuts the floral head but also includes some embossed lines, so I added one in white cardstock and the other in glitter cardstock onto the stacked dies . They give a lovely layered look to the flower head although it’s hard to see it in the photos.
Finally, I stamped two greetings from Clearly Besotted So Much To Say onto black cardstock using Versamark ink, and I applied white embossing powder and heat set. These were popped up with foam tape. Dandelion Yellow Nuvo drops were added to the centre of each flower.
Thank you so much for joining me today, as always I love to hear from you so please do leave me a comment. Have a wonderful day and happy crafting!
