Good morning friends, I hope you are all well. Today I am delighted to be sharing a card with you featuring a super pretty die from the new Celebrate You release over at Simon Says Stamp. This release goes live today and I was very kindly sent a die to have a play with.
Simon Says Stamp have released a few dies in the past with this stunning filigree design and my card today is showcasing the new Filigree Message Circle.
Such a pretty die – it looks like lace doesn’t it. And as soon as I saw it I knew that I wanted to put some bright and colourful sparkly paste behind it. So I took a panel of Neenah 80lb cardstock and blended Picked Raspberry, Festive Berries, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed and Twisted Citron Distress Inks from top to bottom. I then added a layer of Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer Paste on top and set it aside to dry. I am running out of this paste now so I am going to have to order a new pot – I love it! I used this colour palette and paste in two similar cards recently and loved how sparkly and pretty it was.
Whilst the panel was drying, I took the Filigree Message Circle Die and some 80lb Neenah white cardstock and ran it through the Gemini Junior three times. I wanted to be able to include three coordinating friendship messages across the card, so staggered the circles with that in mind. I trimmed this panel and the pasted panel down slightly so they would be slightly smaller than my base card.
For my sentiments, I picked three greetings that went together from SSS Tiny Words – such a brilliant set and as the sentiments really are quite small, they fit perfectly within that message strip in each circle. They were stamped with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with Hero Arts White Detail Embossing Powder. I then trimmed them with the SSS Sentiment Label Dies and popped some foam tape on the back.
To assemble the card, I put DST on the pasted panel and adhered that to my base card. I then added lots of foam tape onto the back of the filigree panel and pressed that down over the top. Lastly, the sentiments were placed within each circle. I added a few Ice Crystal sequins from Lucy’s cards to finish the card off.
Although it was a bit fiddly putting tiny pieces of foam tape behind the filigree sections, I think it was worth popping it up and it definitely does need the support so I wasn’t shy with the foam tape! I like that each circle is not complete, the lacy edges are so delicate and so pretty.
Thank you as always for joining me today. I hope you like the card and it gives you some inspiration – I am sure I will be using it again soon. Happy crafting!
