Hi there, today I am sharing a card that I made a while back with the super cute Flying With Friends set from Mama Elephant, plus a fab new die called Sky Bursters.
I loved the recent release from Mama Elephant and wanted to buy just about everything in it, but sadly my budget does not allow that! So I treated myself to one of the new die sets and pulled out some lovely flying elephants to go with it.
I stamped the elephants onto Neenah 80lb and coloured them with Copics. I actually stamped most of the ele’s from the set as I wasn’t sure what my design was going to be at this stage and therefore I could have a little play with them all. The Copic numbers are, as always, listed below if you would like to reference them. I used the coordinating dies to cut the images out and set them to one side.
Next I rooted through my background panel stash and came across this beautiful watercoloured panel from a few months back. This had been created with Arches Cold Pressed paper and Altenew Watercolors (Coral Berry, Warm Sunshine and Forest Glades), and I thought it would make a lovely soft background for my ele and mouse – I didn’t really want a cloud background and the warm colours went nicely with the Copics I had used on my balloons – yay for that!
Assembling the card was easy from this point. I die cut the oval window from Sky Bursters from Neenah 80lb and trimmed my watercolour panel so that it would fit nicely behind. These were both stuck down with DST onto a base card. I stamped and white heat embossed a sentiment from ME Everyday Greetings and trimmed it to size with the largest of the SSS Sentiment Label Dies. The sentiment, ele and mouse all got some foam tape on their backs and they were popped into the window.
I added some small white gel pen accents onto the balloons and then a healthy dose of Crystal Glaze over them so they are lovely and glossy. But for some reason the white gel pen almost disappears when you put Tonic Crystal Glaze over it sadly – it always stays more visible with Glossy Accents and I need to remember that for the future. And that completed the card. I think they definitely look like they are enjoying the small moments and having great fun as they float down the card. Such a cute set!
Thanks for your visit today, I am always delighted to hear from you and love it when you leave a comment. I will be back soon with another card for you. In the meantime, have a fab day!
