You can never have enough friendship cards can you? And I don’t believe you can ever have too many floral stamps – my excuse and I’m sticking to it! I recently fell in love with the Mama Elephant Peonies in Bloom set. It actually arrived only yesterday and I made a card today – that’s how fast I wanted to ink it up! And I think peonies are timeless – always elegant, and this stamp set has quite a loose sketchy feel to it, much like peonies in real life. They are one of my favourite flowers in my garden.
But instead of pink, I thought I would colour them in a non traditional way today. I so often reach for pinks and corals but I do like to see flowers in different colours, especially on a card. I began by stamping all the blooms (there are 4) and all the leaves onto Neenah 110lb with Memento Tuxedo Black. They were coloured with Copics (numbers listed below) and cut out with the coordinating creative cuts.
I played around for a while, ok let’s be honest, about 30 minutes, trying to find an arrangement I liked and that sat well with the Friend die that I wanted to have on the card. I took a photo and then set about creating the rest of the card.
If you watched my recent haul video, you will have noticed that I bought the Creative Cuts Basic Set which also arrived yesterday. So I took the scallop frame from that set and die cut a panel of Neenah 80lb. Isn’t that tiny scallop edge so pretty? Such a small touch, but oh so delicate especially with that little embossed line next to it! The Friend was die cut once from SSS Slate cardstock and adhered with Ranger MMM to the white panel. Next I took a small sentiment from ME Timeless Tulips and stamped that in a grey ink just underneath.
All the florals and leaves are actually adhered directly onto the white panel. I do not have any foam tape on this card. I didn’t feel it needed dimension. Lastly, I adhered the white panel onto some SSS Smoke Gray cardstock with DST.
That finishes my card. I love the combination of teal, mint and the different greys, I think they complement each other well. I hope that you have a great week and thank you for stopping by. Happy crafting!
Copics used: Flowers (B0000, BG11, BG53, BG47, BG07), Leaves (C1, C2, C3), Flower Centres (Y11, Y13, Y08)
