Well hello there! I am back today with my second card for MFT Camp Create – still 3 days behind but that’s ok, life happens. And is happening too much!
The second day of MFT Camp Create was all about emboss resist. You wouldn’t believe how many attempts I had to make a card. I watercoloured one (didn’t like), cut it down to see if that would help (didn’t like even more haha), ink blended in three different colours and different positions (didn’t like any), and finally came up with this!
It’s very pretty and lovely in real life. Maybe not quite as vibrant as the pics as I ink blended with Oxides so it’s a little bit chalky, and what you can’t see well is the Twisted Citron around the outside, but it’s subtle. So, I began by white heat embossing the Captivating Mandala background stamp so that it covered two thirds of a Neenah A2 panel. I blended Worn Lipstick, Squeezed Lemonade and Twisted Citron Oxides onto the panel and trimmed it down slightly.
I glued some MFT Black & White Stripes patterned paper to a base card and then adhered the blended panel on top. I took the MFT Sweet Hello die and cut it from Neenah 80lb, and it’s shadow from vellum. The white die cut was adhered with tiny dots of glue and I put teeny tiny foam pieces behind the vellum so that it was popped up on the panel.
The rest of the sentiment came from MFT Well, Hello. This was white heat embossed on black cardstock and trimmed with an MFT Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strip. I trimmed it down and adhered it flat to the panel just sitting slightly under the popped up “hello”.
If anyone ever tells you making a card is easy, they are lying! On that note, I’m off to make the lunch and tackle the pile of ironing. Have a fabulous weekend everyone, thanks for your company today!
