Hello there, hope you are all well! Today starts the countdown teasers for the Clearly Besotted August release. It’s a smaller release this time around, but even so, I do have four cards to share with you and today I am kicking it off with some summer fun using three of the new sets. In this release you have lots of scene building options, plus a few cuties thrown in.
I started by colouring one of the critter images from Seasonal Line Up. This set has four different “lines” of sweet images based around all four seasons. I went with the “summer” based theme and coloured with Copics. I fussy cut it and then set it to one side. Next I die cut a window panel and then traced the outline of that onto my base card so that I could see where to stamp my background
I took the beach scene from Scene It Seasons and stamped it onto my base card and then erased the pencilled lines before colouring. Again, this is a seasonal based stamp set – four different images for each season of the year, so fun and very versatile. Next I stamped and cut a mask for the background. I laid the mask down and applied Distress Inks for the sky, removed the mask and then Copic coloured the sand, hill, sea and tree.
My window panel was adhered flat onto my A2 base card with DST. I then added the critters with wet adhesive along the bottom of the arch window.
The sentiments come from two different sentiment sets. Laugh Out Loud Belated is a new set and forms part of the popular Laugh Out Loud series, and I thought this was such a fun sentiment. I’m very rarely late with cards, but it’s always good to have one to hand! So I stamped it with Versamark and white heat embossed onto black cardstock.
Lastly, I took Pop Up Psst which was released last month and stamped the speech bubble and sentiment onto black with versamark and white heat embossed. I thought having the speech bubble sentiment added a little extra into the background, plus it coordinated well with the sentiment below. That was popped up with foam tape for a little dimension to an otherwise relatively flat card.
And that finishes today’s card. Do hop over to see Stephanie, Keren and Michelle, I am sure they have some wonderful cards to inspire you. I will be back tomorrow with the second teaser. Until then, happy crafting!
