Welcome back to day four of the August release countdown teasers for Clearly Besotted. All of the sets will be released tomorrow (1st August) at 8pm BST at Clearly Besotted and Simon Says Stamp.
For today’s card, I have decided to make a Christmas/winter card. The sets this month mostly focused on the four different seasons so after a few summer cards, I thought it would be time to show you a winter themed card instead.
Whenever I use paste on a card I always create that piece first to allow it time to dry. So for this card I took the Snow Day stencil and some SSS Fog cardstock, applied white paste through it and left it to dry. It probably didn’t take an hour to dry as the layer was quite thin but I allowed it an hour in any case. Whilst it was drying I worked on the image panel which took at least an hour as I ended up doing it twice!
Next, I took the winter image from Scene It Seasons and stamped it onto Neenah before die-cutting it with a HA Rectangle Infinity die. I stamped a mask at the same time, fussy cut it and laid it down over the panel. I applied Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink at the top and bottom portions of the panel, making it a litle darker at the edges. I did also put a tiny amount of the ink on the snow bank in the centre of the card once I had removed the mask.
Next I Copic coloured the snowman and tree and then two of the penguins from All Four Seasons. The penguins were fussy cut and adhered onto the panel with wet adhesive but before I did that, as I didn’t leave a white trim on the penguins when cutting them out, I went around the edges with a Memento Tuxedo Black Marker to give them a better finish. The sentiment is from a new set called Seasonal Sentiments – the first time I have used this set this week. It has that lovely mix of scripty and block fonts and it coordinates beautifully with all the image sets this month. I selected this fun sentiment that fit both the stamping area on the panel and the scene itself – yay for that!
The image panel was matted onto red cardstock and then onto the pasted panel which was then matted onto the base card. I added a little Tonic Aqua shimmer onto the hat, scarf and present.
Thank you as always for your company this week. Before you go, please do hop over to Stephanie, Keren and Michelle to see what they have been upto. I will be back tomorrow with a release day post which will have links to all the new items. I hope you have enjoyed the teasers and I will be back with another project soon. Happy crafting!

Loving the snow effect, thank you for the introduction to that paste instead of time of drops left to dry. Your scene is super cute, I’m loving all this month’s release, now to convince the bank manager lol x

Ooh I LOVE the paste snow and the scene is just adorable! I wouldn’t mind a bit of cold at the mo! x

Oh this is so cute, Lisa! I love the little scene with the penguins. The paste through the stencil really adds a snowy feel to the card. Beautiful! xx
