Well hello there everyone, I hope you are all well! Today kicks of the countdown teasers for the Clearly Besotted September release. This release is mostly focused around Halloween but there are a few little monsters coming too.
So today, I thought I would start with a scene card, but one without any critters. One of the new sets is called Picture It Halloween, a small size set which forms part of the range of “Picture It” stamps which really make it so easy for you to stamp and go!
I so rarely do a black card, but it suits Halloween and of course, the Halloween colours are always vibrant and bright and look even brighter against black. The scene stamp was inked up with Memento and stamped onto some Neenah and also onto some masking paper. I fussy cut the mask, placed it down over the image and then applied three blue Distress Inks to create the background. Keeping the mask on, I added some water spatters which were lifted with a paper towel and then to finish I added some white gouache spatters for a little extra interest. I set this aside to dry.
Once dry, the rest of the image was coloured with Copics, trimmed down a little and adhered to a base card. I took a black A2 panel and die cut a window using the MFT Stitched Arch Stax and then adhered that down on top. The sentiment from a new sentiment set called Happy Everything was white heat embossed onto a black strip and popped up with foam tape to finish the card.
So a fairly simple card but one that I really think highlights the fun spooky image! And who doesn’t love an orange pathway to their door? Dorothy had the yellow brick road, I thought I would have an orange one!
Do hop over to see what Stephanie, Keren, Michelle and this month’s fabulous Guest Designer, Joy Taylor have in store. I am sure they will have some frightfully fantastic cards for you! I’ll be back tomorrow with the second teasers but in the meantime, thanks for joining me and happy crafting.
Copics used: YR68, YR16, YR14, YR04, YG06, YG03, YG01, YG00, C9, C7, C6, C5, C4, C3, C2, C1.
