Hello again! Today is day two of the countdown teasers for the Clearly Besotted September release and today I have a fun little shaker for you. It’s no secret, at least if you read my blog, that I have a stash of sequins that need to be used, and I thought I would delve into those for today’s card featuring the super sweet mini set called Hippo Halloweeen. And including the most unscary spider from Halloween Plushies!
So, to start, I stamped, coloured and fussy cut all my images and set them to one side to work on the shaker portion of the card. I knew that I wanted to have a purple base for this card. Again, I have a stash of coloured cardstock that needs using and I found an unopened pack of the loveliest purple card, so that formed the basis of the shaker. I made an A2 purple base card first, and then took a small piece of Neenah and blended Wilted Violet Distress Ink onto it. I added some water drops on top and picked them up with a paper towel and then adhered this down onto the base card so it would sit behind the window panel.
For the window panel, I took some Neenah and the MFT Rectangle Peek A Boo Window Die plus the Mama Elephant rectangle die from their Basic Set of Creative Cuts (love that little scallop!) and ran those through the Gemini. I adhrered some acetate behind the window and a load of foam tape all around.
I found some purple sequins from Lucy’s cards called Sugar Plum which are now discontinued but any coloured sequin mix can be used of course. I placed a load of them down onto the base and then popped the top panel on top. All I needed to do now was add my images with a little foam tape and then heat emboss a sentiment from Halloween Plushies to go underneath.
To finish the card off, I added a little black glaze pen to their eyes and some shimmer pen to the cloak and pumpkin and that finishes today’s card. Make sure to hop over to see what Stephanie, Michelle, Keren and Guest Designer Joy have created for today. I will be back tomorrow with a little space monster for you. Until then, thanks for stopping by.
Copics used: Hippo (C4, C3, C2, C1, C0), Spider (YG06, YG03, YG01), Pumpkin/Cloak (YR68, YR16, YR04, YR21)
