Hello there!
Today I am back with my final post for the MFT Weekly Sketch Challenge. It’s been great fun as some super cute sets were released in September (no surprise there!) So, here is the sketch for this week.
And here is my take on the sketch. As you can see I pretty much followed this sketch for my card this week.
Thank you teacher cards are always good to have year round aren’t they. They shouldn’t just be saved for end of year or even end of term. So today, I thought I would use the Lessons In Love set for my card. I began by taking a base card and blending Cement Gray Premium Dye Ink through the English Brick Wall stencil. I then took an A2 panel of Gravel Gray cardstock and trimmed from corner to corner and adhered that onto my base with wet adhesive.
The teacher was stamped with Extreme Black Hybrid Ink and coloured with Copics (numbers listed below) and then cut with the coordinating dienamics and set to one side. I took the gorgeous Hearts Entwined dienamics and die cut it from white cardstock and I cut a vellum circle using Circle Stax 2.
To assemble the card, I added foam tape onto the back of the teacher, placed it on the Hearts Entwined die cut and then placed them both over the vellum panel. The foam tape behind the teacher helps to adhere the whole stack together. I next took some wet adhesive and added tiny dots on the back of the vellum where it wouldn’t be seen (behind the teacher mostly but also behind parts of the hearts) and added that onto my base card.
The sentiment is from Bitty Thanks and Gratitude. I white heat embossed this onto Black Licorice cardstock, trimmed it with the Skinny Strips dienamics and popped it up with foam tape. My final element for the card was a purple heart which was die cut with the Hearts Entwined dienamic using some scrap purple cardstock and just added on with wet adhesive. Such a fun sketch which would work brilliantly I think with so many sets – for example, ocean themed, flying things, florals, shapes and sentiments. It’s very versatile.
For the chance to win $50 to the MFT online store, link up your project over at the blog. You just never know, you may win. It’s always worth a shot and I try to join in when time allows. Thanks of course go to My Favorite Things for inviting me to join them this month, and also my thanks go to you as always for stopping by. I hope you have some time to get crafty soon!

Fabulous, fun design Lisa. Teachers do need more thanks & appreciation than once a year, along with a medal in some circumstances. Sad to see this as your last sketch challenge, hope to see you back again in future x Have a great weekend x

Love your card. I think you are very right. Teacher should be thank more, then just the end of the year.
