Hi there, welcome back everyone to the fourth day of the October release teasers from Clearly Besotted. I had such a blast creating this month, I always love to make Christmas cards, it’s my favourite type of card to make. I’ve usually made a lot more by now than I have, but I am trying not to panic about that! So, today’s card features a lovely set called Nativity Play. And I created an almost one layer card. Come on, this is me, I never manage a complete one layer card do I?!.
This one required quite a bit of masking, not my forte normally but it did come out as I wanted which was a plus! I started by stamping the two mice at the front with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I then laid the stable stamp down on top of the panel, positioned the baby mouse in the manger on top of that, picked up the mouse stamp using the MISTI and then stamped that down on to the panel. I created masks for all three mice, and then stamped the stable over the top. It sounds more complicated than it was!
Next I created a mask for the stable and then left all masks on whilst I blended the background. I used just two Distress Inks for this – Chipped Sapphire and Stormy Sky, before adding two sprays of Sparkle Shimmer Spritz on top and then a couple of sprays of Ranger Distress Stain Picket Fence over the top. I let this dry and then peeled off the masks.
The scene was then coloured with Copics (numbers listed below). I added a little more snow to the background using a white gel pen and then I stamped the sentiment from Sentimental Christmas onto the bottom using Versafine Onyx Black ink. And of course some sparkle was added onto the headscarves, stable and manger.
To finish the card off, I ran it through the Gemini Junior with the scalloped frame die from Mama Elephant Creative Cuts Basic set. It was then adhered to a white top folding base panel using DST. That finishes my card for today. Funny thing was that when I came to photograph it, I realised I hadn’t coloured the cane in! It was stark white haha! I am sure the lovely DT and guest Joy wold appreciate a visit from you, so if you have time, please pay them a visit – Stephanie, Michelle, Keren and Joy. I will be back tomorrow with my last teaser for you. It’s release day – so only one more sleep! Until then…..
