Hello there friends, today we are kicking off the Clearly Besotted Countdown Teasers. After last month’s huge Christmas release, you’d have thought I may be a little tired of making Christmas cards. But no! I have another one for you. I honestly love making Christmas cards – I just wish I didn’t need as many as I do as that does stress me out a little. But I start making them early in the year… usually. The sets that I am showcasing today are called It’s A Celebration and Scene It Celebration.
The Scene It Celebration set has four lovely balloon cluster images, one of which contains the word “Merry”, so I thought I would create another Christmassy scene with that. And I paired it with the all singing and dancing cuties in It’s A Celebration.
I’m going to be completely honest here. I had no idea what I was doing when I made this card. It morphed into this happy little scene as I just couldn’t stop adding bits! I don’t even really know what order I made the elements in, it’s all a bit of a blur. Suffice to say, somehow a background was created and images were coloured! And everything got stuck down! I think….
For the background I blended Peacock Feathers, Broken China and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks from the top to about two thirds down the panel as I wanted to leave that bottom area white. I first added some water droplets onto the panel and picked them up with a paper towel. I then spritzed it with Shimmer Spritz and Ranger Distress Spray Stain Picket Fence. But I didn’t stop there! Oh no indeedy! I then took a white gel pen and added even more white dots onto it.
I Copic coloured all my images and fussy cut them out. The trees are from Winter Plushies (one of last year’s Christmas sets). These were all set to one side whilst I contemplated my next move. The decision was finally made to die cut some snow banks and add those on, one of them with foam tape for some dimension. I then placed my images in a little scene and stuck them all down, some flat, some popped up.
At this point, I remembered there needed to be a sentiment! So I reached for one of last month’s sentiment sets – Sentimental Christmas, and stamped one of the greetings on the snow bank at the bottom. I had to remove my foam pad from my MISTI so it would stamp evenly (insert rolling eyes here). I just about got away with it.
And then to finish the card off (yes, there is more!), I added some Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle pen over the presents and balloon cluster. AND THEN white gel pen snow onto all the coloured images, so it looks a little bit blizzardy. At this point I called it a day amd put it to one side before I added anything else.
Do hop over to the Clearly Besotted Blog to see what Stephanie and Jenny have made for you. And don’t forget my lovely teamies, Keren and Michelle. I’ll be back tomorrow with another teaser for you. Happy crafting!
