Hello everyone, I hope you are well. Today I am sharing another Christmas card using a cute little dog and penguin from the Picket Fence Studios set – The Season Of Giving. I apologise for my lack of blog posts recently, we are due to move house just after Christmas and life is pretty hectic at the moment. I am not having much time to go to the craft room!
So here is today’s card.
I really liked the background that I did on this card, so I thought I would make another one today, but this time have more of it on show. So I created it the same way, by using my Altenew watercolours on some Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor cardstock. I merrily just splashed colour around until I was happy with the mix of colours. There is no rhyme or reason to it, the aim is to have fun and see where it takes you! I then let it dry, splattered on some white gouache and then took two brushes of different sizes and dabbed little dots over it so that I would have some larger snowflakes.
I coloured two of the sweet images from the stamp set and coloured them with Copics (numbers listed below). They were cut out with the coordinating dies and set to one side whilst I assembled my card. The background panel was trimmed a little and adhered with DST to a base card. I then die cut a snow drift from Neenah 110 and adhered that with Multi Medium Matte.
I popped the card into the MISTI and stamped a sentiment from the set (there are some lovely longer sentiments in the set but they didn’t fit my design, so I need to make more cards argh!). Lastly, I glued the penguin and dog down onto the snow bank.
I really love having a big bold background and small images. This card reminds me of when I watch David Attenborough visit the Antarctic. Of course there is always more than one penguin – there are usually thousands, but they always look so small against the snow and sky. I think maybe if you looked carefully, you would even see a little dog with sparkly things on its head!
Happy crafting one and all, I will be back on Thursday with another card for you. Thank you as always for visiting, you are very appreciated.
Copics used: C4, C2, C0, BG13, BG11, BV13, BV02, BV01

Even splashes by artists of your calibre make it look stunning. I love the bg. I hope when I do some splashing merrily, it’s even 10% like yours. 🙂 I love your card.
