Hello friends
Today it is Christmas in July in my craft room – sorry! Well, you know me, I like to get ahead. I have a beautiful new set from Picket Fence Studios sitting on my desk and I thought I would use it on a Christmas card. The set is called Watercolor Trees and Bushes. This set is fabulous as it can be used all year round and I think it would look great stamped in Autumn colours
I also had an old background panel that I wanted to put to use. I created the background last year using Gansai Tambi watercolors and thought it would be perfect for a white sparkly silhoutted tree. What you can’t see sadly is that the embossing powder I have used is not only sparkly, but it puffs up a little. And fortunately I had not added snow splatters as I think this would have got lost around the tree – it stands out because the background is vibrant and bold.
So I took the tree stamp, inked it up with Versamark ink and stamped it down twice onto my panel. The watercoloured panel has some texture and so I wanted to make sure I had stamped it well enough for the powder to take properly. I applied WOW White Puff Twinkle Powder and heat set. You can still get this powder in a few places, but it’s a few years old now. The latter powder is called White Puff and would do just as well.
I took a sentiment from The Season of Giving and stamped it into the lower corner using Versafine Onyx Black ink. To finish the card I took a Hero Arts Infinity Rectangle die and cut three frames from white cardstock, adhered them together and then onto the panel, so that it has a defined border.
And that finishes the card. It was really quick because I had the panel made already. And I love how it turned out, especially as the “snow” at the bottom is all uneven and loose due to the watercolouring. And the puffy sparkle is so so pretty in real life! I had big plans to do a couple of Christmas cards a month and have failed miserably, but hey ho, I have one more now! Thanks as always for stopping by and I will be back soon with another project for you.

This is so pretty, Lisa and yay that you could use a panel that you had already made! Love the bold vibrant background with the beautiful white trees xx
