Welcome to the second day of the countdown teasers for the August release from Clearly Besotted. Today I have been playing with the new adorable set called Pirouetting Plushies. Lots of cute little penguins to chose from and you can have them dancing in a spotlight or floating through the air with clouds and rainbows!
I began by taking the Clearly Besotted Tiled It stencil and using my Picket Fence Studios blending brushes, I blended Distress Inks through each section. I masked off each square separately with Heffy Doodle Memo Tape and used a combination of the following sets of inks – Worn Lipstick/Spun Sugar, Ripe Persimmon/Dried Marigold and Mustard Seed/Squeezed Lemonade. These were applied randomly to each individual square. Next I took the largest of the dies from Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles and die cut the panel before setting it to one side.
I stamped five of the penguin images – one is a repeat of the top left image as I wanted them to be standing or sitting in certain positions according to their place on the panel. They were coloured with Copics and fussy cut. I then decided to add a couple of umbrellas into the mix so went ahead and did the same with those.
I found the perfect size sentiment for the bottom right square – this is from Saying Stuff, and was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I then popped up the penguins with foam tape and added the umbrellas with a mix of Multi Medium Matt and foam tape. And a little sparkle was added onto each tutu, just because pirouetting plushies need to have a bit of bling!
The stitched panel was adhered flat onto a base card and white gel accents added to the umbrellas. Do hop over to visit the Clearly Besotted Blog, Keren and Michelle and special guest Keeway, who I am sure will have something to delight you! Thanks for stopping by and I will be back tomorrow with my next teaser for you.
