My card today features the lovely Star Wreath Fancy Die and the Dream Messages stamp set. Both of these have just been released as part of the My Monthly Hero February 2022 release. I filmed the making of the card so you can see how it comes together but you can also read on if you prefer written instructions.
For those of you that like the video, here you go!
Follow Your Dreams
I began by die cutting all the elements for the dimensional Star Wreath. I die cut it once from Hero Arts Glitter Basics Black/White (the white glitter card) and three times from Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock. I adhered them all together using Hero Arts Precision Glue. Whilst I was die cutting, I cut half of the wreath again from the same white glitter cardstock so that I could trim out a few of the little stars to use as embellishments later on.
I next created the striped panel by taking four colours of Concord & 9th Assorted Cardstock and running each A2 panel through my Gemini with the Pinkfresh Studio Color Block Stripes die. I used Midnight, Sea Glass, Aqua Sky and Oceanside. You can also trim strips to any width you like but I like the look of the slightly rounded edges you get with a die cut strip. I took a white panel of scrap cardstock and added Stick It Adhesive to it. I then adhered the stripes down on top. There are 6 stripes in total, 2 navy and one of all the other four colours plus one white.
I adhered the striped panel to an A2 panel of Pitch Black cardstock and then covered the stripes with some scrap paper. Using Winsor & Newton White Gouache and a No.2 round brush, I splattered drops towards the top right and bottom left of the panel. I left them to dry and then I added a few white glitter stars (that I had trimmed from the half wreath earlier) amongst the splatters. I love the movement that the splatters and stars add to the card.
The wreath was added on top with Precision Glue. I then stamped a sentiment from Dream Messages onto Pitch Black cardstock using Versamark Ink. I applied White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. This was trimmed with a SSS Sentiment Label die and added on top with foam tape and glue. The whole panel was then added onto a top folding notecard that I created using Pitch Black cardstock.
