Hello there and welcome to a Hero Arts Global Team Blog Hop. Today is a very special day as we have three new amazing cardmakers joining the Global Team – some of them you may well already know! Hero Arts wanted to celebrate the new team with a blog hop and a giveaway. More information on the hop and what you need to do for the giveaway is later on in the post. Today the team is sharing inspiration with the January 2023 My Monthly Hero Kit and Add-ons and I have two cards to share with you. So let’s get started!

Card 1 – Love You
For my first card, I began by taking the Heart Shaped Daisies Stencil from the My Monthly Hero January 2023 kit. This is a really pretty stencil that I couldn’t wait to ink up. The petal leaves on each flower are heart shaped!
I took a panel of white cardstock and placed the stencil down over the top. Using blending brushes, I blended Mustard Seed, Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and Festive Berries Distress Oxide Inks over the panel and then trimmed it down slightly with a Nesting Rectangle Infinity Die. Using a smaller die from the nesting rectangles set, I then cut out a section from the middle. Thin foam tape was added behind the panel and it was popped onto an A2 top folding card base.
Next I took the “LOVE” die and it’s shadow die from the kit. I cut the shadow three times from white cardstock and the letters three times from Cherry, Mustard, Azalea and Peony cardstock. You get the Azalea and Peony cardstock included in the kit. I adhered the three layers of each letter together to form a small stack and then added them onto the shadow stack. The completed die cut was then adhered inside the frame using Precision Glue.
For the sub sentiment, I used the “you” from You’re Mine. It was stamped onto white cardstock using Intens-ified Black Ink and then cut out with the coordinating die. I cut two more layers from white and glued them together, again to form a small stack before adding it into the space below LOVE. I’m finding that stacking up sentiments with cardstock is a good way of me using all my cardstock scraps and it feels more robust too. To finish the card I added a few pearls from Lucy’s Cards – Crystal Collection Snowdrop.
Card 2 – Warning: Contains Love
For this card, I have used only items from the kit. Isn’t that little envelope die adorable?
The envelope die and heart were cut four times using the same colours of card as I used on my previous card. I cut the envelope another four times from white card and then trimmed out the white sections and adhered them onto the coloured envelopes. I did the same with the little hearts.
I stamped a sentiment from the kit onto Pitch Black cardstock using Versamark Ink and then applied White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set before trimming it down.
To assemble the card, I used a Nesting Rectangle Infinity Die to cut a panel of white cardstock which was then added onto an A2 base card created from Pebble cardstock. Using a ruler, I marked the centre of my white panel and adhered the sentiment down. I then added my envelopes around the sentiment. The envelopes also have some thin foam tape on the back so there’s quite a lot of dimension on this card.
