Hi friends, today marks the start of the countdown teasers for the July release from Clearly Besotted. I’m starting my teasers with something bright (shock, horror!) and fun, and I use lots of the images from the Birds Of A Feather set. They were all so cute, I couldn’t decide on what to pick so definitely not a less is more card today ha!
This card has LOTS of dimension as not only is the window panel popped up with foam tape, but most of the images are too, not fogetting the sentiment strip. To start off I stamped and coloured all my images and fussy cut them out. I did note all my Copic numbers and have listed them below if you want to know, and I did use a bit of artistic licence with the colours of some of the birds. But trust me, there is a blue heron in existence, I Googled it and saw it!
Once I had cut them all out, I set them to one side and worked on the rest of the card. I took the MFT Stitched Triple Peek A Boo Window die and ran it through the Gemini Junior twice to form the window panel. I then laid the panel down onto my base card and draw feint pencil lines where each window occurred. Next I took some masking tape and masked off each pencilled window area on the base card, one at a time, erasing the pencil lines before blending the Distress Inks onto the base. I’m sure there is a quicker way of doing this but this is how I ended up doing it! I guess I coulud have just cut little rectangle panels and inked them and put them behind each window but I didn’t think of that at the time!
I added foam tape to the back of the window panel, adhered it over my ink blended base and then popped all my images in. When I had finished and was looking at the card, I spotted that I had put the penguin on the branch! so quickly swapped it over for the owl. Too funny! My eyes are not what they were….. Lastly, I took a sentiment from the set and white heat embossed it onto some black cardstock and also popped that up with foam tape.
That finishes the card – I hope you had your sunglasses on and it transported you to sunnier climes, or Antarctic ones if you are focusing on the penguin now that I’ve told you how clever he was to get himself onto a branch haha. I do hope you can spend some time and hop over and see what Stephanie, Keren, Michelle have created. I’m looking forward to seeing what they made! Until tomorrow, happy crafting!
