Hello there! I’m back with another countdown teaser for you today. This is the second day of the countdowns for the July release from Clearly Besotted and today I have a floral card for you. The set is called Darling Dahlia and it has a couple of beautiful images for you to swoon over. I paired it with a new sentiment set called Simply Said Birthday which has a whole bunch of lovely birthday greetings for general use and also for family members. It’s a continuation from last month’s Simply Said, which was an all occasion greeting set, and I am really happy to see another set with these fonts as they are gorgeous.
So, here is the card for today.
A really simple card for today, but I offset the white panel for some added interest. My image was stamped onto Neenah 80lb with Memento ink and Copic coloured (numbers are listed below). I fussy cut it out and set it to one side whilst I decided what to do next with the design!
I took some SSS Fog cardstock and made a top folding base card and then I took a panel of Neenah, laid it down so that it was offset on the base and trimmed off the overhanging edges. I put some DST on the back and adhered it down. Of course I forgot to do my sentiment before sticking it down but fortunately as there was no real dimension at this stage I was able to pop it into the MISTI and stamp my sentiment from Simply Said Birthday.
Some foam tape was added to the back of the dahlia and that was placed on top. I recently picked up some new sequins called White Orchid from Lucy’s Cards and thought they would be a nice finishing touch. Not as “silvery” as my normal sequin embellishments, but a sparkly white. Pretty! To finish the card, I added some Tonic Crystal Glaze onto the flower centres.
Do hop over and visit Stephanie, Michelle, Keren and our lovely special guest Amy and see what they have made to tempt you today. I’ll be back tomorrow with my next teaser for you. Don’t forget the sets don’t release until 1st July at 8pm BST so there are a few more days to go before you can buy. In the meantime, happy crafting folks!
Copics used: Leaves (B0000, BG11, BG23), Flowers (RV10, RV02, RV23, RV55), Centres/Stems (YG11 YG13)
