Hello again friends! These teasers seem to be flying by this month. Onto day four of the August release from Clearly Besotted and I have an underwater scene today. I love to create sea/underwater scenes, I don’t know why, maybe it just gives me another chance to add brightly coloured fish into the mix! This set is called Dive Right In, and it has a great sunken ship image which is just ready to stamp and go, along with lots of cute little dog divers, some fish and a submarine. Not forgetting all the cute accents like bubbles. Such fun!
To create the background I took one of the Taylored Expressions rectangle mask stencils and blended Tumbled Glass, Mermaid Lagoon and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxides onto the white panel. Lately I have been blending more with blending brushes – I hadn’t really tried them much before, but I am really enjoying using them. It is definitely slower to build up the layers but overall I think you get a smoother finish. Once I had finished blending the inks, I took the Tim Holtz Distress Water Spray and spattered a few water drops over the panel before picking them up with a dry towel. To create the rays coming down from the top, I took the Sunny Day stencil and blended Hero Arts Unicorn White Pigment ink through it.
The sunken ship image and fish were stamped onto Neenah 80lb cardstock and coloured with Copics. I fussy cut them out and then I adhered the ship flat onto the panel using Multi Medium Matte. The two little fish were popped up with foam tape.
To finish the card off, I stamped a greeting from the set onto black cardstock, added HA White Detail embossing powder and heat set. This was trimmed with a sentiment label die and popped up with foam tape and the whole panel was adhered flat onto a card base. I took another white panel and my HA Rectangle Infinity dies and die cut a frame to sit on the top.
Tomorrow is release day and I will have another card for you plus links to all the new products. Until then, do head over to the Clearly Besotted blog, and onto Michelle, Keren and special guest Keeway. Have a lovely evening, thank you as always for taking time to visit my blog and support me. Happy crafting! xx
